my side of the tapestry: Family Celebration of Mom's Birthday Memorial ( 29th April 2013)

The 29th of April should have been the 90th birthday of our beloved deceased Mother (nee Luz Bollozos ) and her third birthday since she passed away in June of 2010. It’s a painful reminder that our dearest mother won’t be around to celebrate with us her children, children-in-law, grandchildren and share the endless fun and excitement of it all. It reminds us of all the family get-together including the gastronomic sprees and adventures she has missed during the past three years since her demise. What makes this truly difficult for us – is celebrating life without the physical presence of that special guest of honor who will certainly delight in the observance of such momentous occasion. But, God in His goodness has blessed us with His immeasurable grace and given us great comfort and healing from celebrating these events and propel ourselves through our extended grief. Words can't describe how much we sorely missed our Mom. But it's sufficient for us to picture how grand her birthday celebration in heaven can be with her Creator together with our dear departed Dad at her side. Our Mother may be gone from this earth but far from gone from our lives. Her memory will be an eternal flame.
We commemorated the special occasion with mass offerings, family visit to her grave at Manila Memorial-Holy Cross , private and intimate family gathering cum luncheon at Josephine’s Restaurant in Tagaytay and a tour of the Puzzle Mansion which holds the Guinness World Records for having the largest collection of 1,028 jigsaw puzzles made by a single person.
